In an effort to keep their valuables safe, most people will either leave their stuff at the hotel or take it with them to the beach but carefully watch it when swimming.
However, this can be a huge distraction, especially when you are solo at a busy tourist beach or want to take some pictures while having fun.
So, what’s the solution?
In this article, I am going to show you how I keep my valuables safe and dry when swimming.
How to keep your money dry when swimming
Use a waterproof pouch/ Waterproof Money Holder.
Personally, I use this waterproof 3-pack pouch. It is one of the best places to put your money and phone while swimming.
I have used it numerous times at the beach and it has always worked perfectly.
I have also used it in so many pool parties and water parks when swimming for the whole day and the water never gets inside. My phone, money, and other valuables stay safe and completely dry.
The good thing is that it looks good and it is easy to wear when swimming. You only need to wear it on your waist.
You will be surprised to get so many people who are interested in knowing where they can get it.
Personally, I love it because it perfectly fits all my stuff – keys, phone, and cash.
Additionally, unlike the neck pouches that you can end up losing without knowing, this one stays perfectly secured on your waist like a fanny pack.
How to keep your phone dry when swimming
Even if my phone is waterproof I don’t like how it leaves some staff behind after the salty water dries up.
I have friends whose iPhones got destroyed by the salty water at the beach.
So, if you are like me or are worried about your phone being destroyed by the salty water, I recommend getting a waterproof phone case or using the waterproof pouch discussed above.

If you are buying a pouch to wear while swimming, take note of the following;
- Sometimes brands use the term waterproofing as a form of marketing. Therefore, you might buy a pouch thinking that you can swim with your stuff in it but end up disappointed. So be sure to do some research and go through the customer reviews.
- After buying a waterproof pouch, I recommend you put a dry tissue inside, close it, and then dip it in water for some time. If the tissue retains its dryness then go ahead and use it. Otherwise, all your stuff might get wet when you go swimming with them.
