Barcelona is one of the most popular tourist destinations and the best vacation spot for most avid travelers.
But why is it such a good vacation spot?
Barcelona is a great vacation destination because of 4 major reasons:
- The food
- The weather
- The beaches
- Things to do
First of all, if I was asked to name my top 5 food destinations, Barcelona would still feature top on the list. Why? It has many great mouthwatering dishes to try out.
You enjoy great meals without having to spend much. I mean, even if you’re traveling on a tight budget, you will still enjoy great, delicious foods in Barcelona.
But, what’s so special about the food in Barcelona?
- I love the fact that they use fresh and local ingredients which makes their food absolutely delicious.
- They blend in a mixture of the Mediterranean flavors with their home produce which creates different tastes that you will always remember.
- You can choose where to eat, from the traditional eateries to simple and extravagant places.
What’s unique about Barcelona’s traditional restaurants
The traditional Barcelona restaurants have a taste of authentic foods that you probably won’t find in Spain.
I feel obligated to admit that the thought of it makes me salivate :).
You’ll find all types of delicious dishes that are just waiting to be discovered (and eaten!). Some of the best traditional foods I found here (my personal preferences) include the Paella, crema Catalana, and fideuà – a tasty, delicious seafood mix.
One of the best ways to find these delicious dishes is by taking a food tour with a local guide.
Best neighborhoods to eat in Barcelona
- Poble Nou
If you’ve never been to Barcelona before, I highly recommend taking a guided tour. It’s the best way to get a sense of the history and local culture. I use GetYourGuide to find new things to do in my favorite destinations.
